An Air France flight operating from Paris to Beirut has declared an emergency and diverted mid-flight.

Flight AF566, an Airbus A330-200, departed Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport earlier today bound for Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. While en route, the aircraft squawked 7700, indicating a general emergency, before diverting from its planned track.

Live flight-tracking data shows the aircraft descending and diverting after the emergency code was transmitted. The reason for the emergency has not yet been confirmed by the airline.

At this stage, there are no reports of injuries, and Air France has not issued a public statement detailing the nature of the incident.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
